Tour Overview
This Grand tour of Italy will start in Rome and travel to the charming villages in Tuscany. Enjoy a taste of the world-famous Nobile wine in Montepulciano. Take in the architectural beauty of the medieval city, Siena. Admire the canals in Venice as you explore the city and learn about the glassmaking technique in Murano. Next up, Florence, the birthplace of the Renaissance. Relax and take in the breathtaking scenery of the Amalfi coast and the Isle of Capri.

Day 1 – Monday – Rome – Orvieto – Montepulciano – Siena Area

Departure from Destination Italia Sightseeing office at 8:00 a.m. for Orvieto, a village in Umbria built on a tuff cliff. Proceed to Montepulciano to taste ‘Nobile’ wine, one of the oldest and finest wines of Tuscany. Check-in at a hotel in Siena area. Welcome dinner and overnight stay. Meals: Dinner


Day 2 – Tuesday – Siena Area – Siena – Bologna – Mestre

Breakfast in the hotel and departure for Mestre. Along the way, stop for a guided tour of Siena, a medieval city built around Piazza del Campo, famous all over the world for its architectural beauty and unique “shell” shape. Proceed to Bologna and time at leisure to visit the symbols of the city, like the impressive Piazza Maggiore and the Asinelli and Garisenda Towers. Arrival in Mestre, check-in at the hotel. Dinner in the hotel and overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast, Dinner


Day 3 – Wednesday – Mestre – Venice – Mestre

Breakfast in the hotel and transfer to the Island of Venice, a magical, one-of-a-kind city. Guided tour of the city, passing through Piazza San Marco, the beating heart of the city with its extraordinary buildings (St. Mark’s Basilica, Doge’s Palace, St. Mark’s Clock Tower) and the Bridge of Sighs. Departure by boat for Murano to visit a famous glassworks and admire the glassmaking. Return to St. Mark’s Square and time at leisure with the possibility to have a gondola tour. Return to the hotel at the established time. Dinner at leisure and overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast


Day 4 – Thursday – Mestre – Verona – Florence

Breakfast in the hotel and departure for Verona, the romantic city which set the scene for the love story of Romeo and Juliet. In the early afternoon, proceed to Florence. Upon arrival, guided tour of the old town centre, passing through its symbolic spots, such as Piazza del Duomo, Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral, Piazza della Signoria and Ponte Vecchio. Check-in at the hotel. Dinner at leisure and overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast


Day 5 – Friday – Florence

Breakfast in the hotel. Day at leisure to explore Florence, also known as the birthplace of the Renaissance, one of the most famous cities in the world and an important cultural and artistic hub. Possibility of optional tours, such as the tour of the Uffizi Gallery, the Accademia Gallery Museum or a trip to plunge oneself into the fragrances and colours of the nearby Chianti district. Dinner and overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast, Dinner


Day 6 – Saturday – Florence – Assisi – Rome

Breakfast in the hotel and departure for Assisi. Upon arrival, walk through the narrow streets of the medieval city, famous for counting St. Francis and St. Claire as its former residents, who were two very important figures of Italian religious history. Proceed to Rome and arrival in the late afternoon. Check-in at the hotel, dinner at leisure and overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast


Day 7 – Sunday – Rome – Naples – Pompeii – Sorrento

Departure from Rome to Naples. Upon arrival, walk around the city centre, discovering Piazza del Plebisicito, Palazzo Reale, Galleria Umberto I and Teatro San Carlo.Lunch in a local restaurant to taste authentic Neapolitan pizza. Proceed to Pompeii for the guided tour of the archaeological excavations. This ancient Roman city was destroyed when Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD and buried it, preserving it under a sea of volcanic ash for nearly 1700 years. Enjoy a stop in a cameos and coral shop. Transfer to Sorrento, famous for its picturesque old town centre and characteristic fisherman’s village of Marina Grande, one of the most authentic treasures of the city. Check-in at the hotel, dinner and overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner


Day 8 – Monday – Sorrento – Capri – Sorrento

Breakfast in the hotel and departure at 7:30 a.m. for the port of Sorrento. Meet the guide and sail to Capri by hydrofoil. After arriving at the island, enjoy a boat trip to the Blue Grotto (weather permitting). Continue by minibus to Anacapri and have lunch at a local restaurant. Then reach the legendary Piazzetta, heart of the island. Return to the port to head back to Sorrento. Dinner and overnight stay.Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner


Day 9 – Tuesday – Sorrento – Pompeii – Rome

Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer from Sorrento to Pompeii at around 2:30 p.m. to board the bus going to Rome. Arrival scheduled for around 8:30 p.m. (with drop-off guaranteed at Viale Washington, Viale Luigi Einaudi / Termini Area and Via Ludovisi). Meals: Breakfast
