Tour Overview
Start your wonderful tour with a tasting of balsamic vinegar in Modena, one of Italy’s best-known products. Visit Cinque Terre, Italy’s unspoilt coastline dotted with bays and a UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Admire the Leaning Tower of Pisa, an absolute architectural gem. Proceed to Florence, the birthplace of Renaissance and appreciate its charming old town center. Arrive in San Gimignano, a little medieval town before departing for Siena, home to the renowned Piazza del Campo. Discover Sorrento’s picturesque old town center before visiting the beautiful island of Capri and the world-famous sea caves of Blue Grotto.
Day 1 – Venice – Bologna – Modena Area – La Spezia
Departure at 8:30 a.m. from Piazzale Roma in Venice for Bologna, and time at leisure to visit the symbols of the city, like the impressive Piazza Maggiore and the Asinelli and Garisenda Towers. Proceed to the area of Modena for a tasting of balsamic vinegar, one of the most world-renowned classic Italian products. Departure for La Spezia and check-in at the hotel. Welcome dinner in a local restaurant and overnight stay. Meals: Dinner
Day 2 – Monday – La Spezia – Cinque Terre – La Spezia
Breakfast in the hotel and departure from the port of La Spezia to start the boat excursion to the Cinque Terre, one of the most unspoilt areas of Italy, a long stretch of rocky coastline filled with bays and beaches on a crystal sea, dotted with little villages, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. Arrival by boat at Porto Venere and Proceed to Vernazza and Monterosso, the biggest and oldest Cinque Terre village, divided into two parts: the old town, and the new town. Return to La Spezia. Dinner at leisure and overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast
Day 3 – Tuesday – La Spezia – Pisa – Florence
Breakfast in the hotel and departure for Pisa. Visit of the city of the Leaning Tower, a totally unique work of architectural art situated in Piazza dei Miracoli. In the early afternoon, proceed to Florence. Upon arrival, guided tour of the old town centre, passing through its symbolic spots, such as Piazza del Duomo, Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral, Piazza della Signoria and Ponte Vecchio. Check in at the hotel. Dinner at leisure and overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast
Day 4 – Wednesday – Florence
Breakfast in the hotel. Day at leisure to explore Florence, also known as the birthplace of the Renaissance, one of the most famous cities in the world and an important cultural and artistic hub. Possibility of optional tours, such as the tour of the Uffzi Gallery, the Accademia Gallery Museum or a trip to plunge oneself into the fragrances and colours of the nearby Chianti district. Dinner and overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Day 5 – Thursday – Florence – San Gimignano – Siena – Rome
Breakfast in the hotel and departure for San Gimignano. Time at leisure to visit the little medieval town, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Proceed to Siena and have a guided tour of the town built up around Piazza del Campo, famous all over the world for its architectural beauty and unique “shell” shape. Proceed to Rome and arrival in the late afternoon. Check-in at the hotel, dinner at leisure and overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast
Day 6 – Friday – Rome – Naples – Pompeii – Sorrento
Departure from Rome to Naples. Upon arrival, walk around the city centre, discovering Piazza del Plebisicito, Palazzo Reale, Galleria Umberto I and Teatro San Carlo.Lunch in a local restaurant to taste authentic Neapolitan pizza. Proceed to Pompeii for the guided tour of the archaeological excavations. This ancient Roman city was destroyed when Vesuvius erupted in 79 AD and buried it, preserving it under a sea of volcanic ash for nearly 1700 years. Enjoy a stop in a cameos and coral shop. Transfer to Sorrento, famous for its picturesque old town centre and characteristic fisherman’s village of Marina Grande, one of the most authentic treasures of the city. Check-in at the hotel, dinner and overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 7 – Saturday – Sorrento – Capri – Sorrento
Breakfast in the hotel and departure at 7:30 a.m. for the port of Sorrento. Meet the guide and sail to Capri by hydrofoil. After arriving at the island, enjoy a boat trip to the Blue Grotto (weather permitting). Continue by minibus to Anacapri and have lunch at a local restaurant. Then reach the legendary Piazzetta, heart of the island. Return to the port to head back to Sorrento. Dinner and overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 8 – Sunday – Sorrento – Pompeii – Rome
Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer from Sorrento to Pompeii at around 2:30 p.m. to board the bus going to Rome. Arrival scheduled for around 8:30 p.m. (with drop-off guaranteed at Viale Washington, Viale Luigi Einaudi / Termini Area and Via Ludovisi). Meals: Breakfast
