Tour Overview:
SITA World Tours invites you to discover Wales during a week-long tour beginning in the vibrant Capital City of Cardiff and ending in the beautiful seaside town of Llandudno. Our rich and varied itinerary allows you to explore some of Wales’ most famous, historical and cultural sites while observing breath-taking scenery along the way from the glorious Gower Peninsula to the awe-inspiring Snowdonia National Park.

Day 1: Arrival in Wales

Croeso i Gymru! Welcome to Wales! Upon arrival, you will check in to your accommodation for the following 2 nights. This evening, you will meet with your Cardiff Guide – Sian Roberts at the Hotel and enjoy a welcome dinner with the group at a local restaurant. Overnight: Cathedral 73, Cardiff. (D)

Day 2: Exploring Cardiff

This morning, you will meet your Guide – Sian Roberts at the Hotel where you will begin the Cardiff Lunch & Landmarks Tour. This incredible tour of Cardiff allows you to enjoy traditional Welsh cuisine through tasting experiences and a 2 course lunch in different venues around Cardiff. You will also discover some of Cardiff’s iconic landmark buildings along the way while learning a few Welsh words too! The tour will finish at Cardiff Castle where you will then take part in a Castle & House Tour. Discover 2,000 years of History that’s enclosed within the Castle’s chambers and fairytale towers! Day 3: Pembrokeshire

We will begin our day with a visit to Europe’s leading open-air museum, St Fagans. Gain an insight into Welsh history, heritage and culture by wondering through a wide range of historic sites that are set in over 100 acres of land surrounding St Fagans Castle. From here, our journey will continue to Pembrokeshire. We will make a stop at the Dylan Thomas Boathouse where Dylan once lived with his family. Dylan Thomas is a legendary Welsh poet who worked from the Writing Shed above the Boathouse. We will then travel to our accommodation for the next two evenings. Overnight: Elm Grove Country House, Pembrokeshire. (B)

Day 4: St David’s & Tenby

This morning, you will discover the unique City of St David’s which is the smallest City in Britain. Discover the magnificent St David’s Cathedral and the ruins of the medieval Bishops Palace. Later, you will gain an insight into a 17th Century Welsh tradition of Welsh Lovespoons. Witness the Thomas Family hand-carve these beautiful spoons which are perfect for sentimental gifts to take home for a loved one! Enjoy free time in Tenby this afternoon. Why not take a stroll to the beautiful harbour where the ruins of Tenby Castle overlook? Alternatively, you could visit the Tenby Museum & Art Gallery or the Tudor Merchant’s House? Overnight: Elm Grove Country House, Pembrokeshire. (B)

Day 5: Aberystwyth & Devils Bridge

Today, we travel to the coastal, University Town of Aberystwyth. Enjoy some time at leisure to explore the range of shops that are situated on the High Street before visiting The National Library of Wales. Take a Tour of the largest Library in Wales which holds over 6.5 million books and periodicals. If you have any Welsh lineage – Here is the best place to investigate further! This afternoon embark on the Vale of Rheidol Steam Train which travels through the heart of the Cambrian Mountains to the Village of Devils Bridge! According to the legend, Devils Bridge was the final place that the Devil visited in Wales. Stroll around the mythical waterfalls and absorb the stunning landscape scenery that this unique little Village has to offer! This evening, you will attend a Male Voice Choir performance. Overnight: Nanteos Mansion, Aberystwyth. (B)

Day 6: Snowdonia

Today, you will discover the beauty of the Snowdonia National Park while travelling up North. Snowdonia holds the highest Mountain throughout Wales and England – Mount Snowdon! Behold Snowdonia’s impressive, mountainous peaks, crystal clear lakes and picturesque villages which are packed with great history! This afternoon visit the National Slate Museum. The Victorian Workshops tell a very special story – The story of the Welsh slate industry! Finally, you will journey to the Summit of Mount Snowdon on the Snowdon Mountain Railway. This railway in known as one of the most unique experiences throughout the World and offers breath-taking views of the National Park.Overnight: Llandudno Bay Hotel, Llandudno. (B)

Day 7: Anglesey & Caernarfon

This morning, you will visit the village with the longest place name in Europe – Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch. This is the perfect opportunity to have that essential photo-stop. This afternoon, you will travel to the walled market town of Caernarfon where you will visit the dominating Caernarfon Castle. The Castle was built in 1283 by Master James of St George under the instruction of King Edward I. Caernarfon Castle is built on legend and bitter medieval conflict and remains one of the greatest historic structures to stand today! This evening, you will enjoy a final dinner at the Hotel with the group. Overnight: Llandudno Bay Hotel, Llandudno. (BD)

Day 8: Departure Journey

Today, you will depart for your onward journey. Transfers can be arranged if required. (B)
