Finland Experiences
Rovaniemi
Rovaniemi is the capital of Lapland and the official hometown of Santa Claus. With a chance to view the Northern Lights, it is also home to Arktikum, a museum and science center exploring the Arctic region and the history of Finnish Lapland. The Science Centre Pilke features interactive exhibits on northern forests.
Helsinki
Traveling through the world's northernmost metro area with over one million people and the EU capital furthest north on the planet, places of interest are the Senate Square, the University and the Lutheran Cathedral, all displaying neoclassical architecture of the 1840’s; the colorful Market Square by the sea in the South Harbor, Kaivopuisto Park and diplomatic residences; the imposing statue of Marshall Mannerheim, the Parliament Building, Finlandia Hall, the Orthodox Russian Church Uspenski and the Sibelius Monument are all worth a visit.
Lapland
Lapland is Finland’s northernmost region, a sparsely populated area bordering Sweden, Norway, Russia, and the Baltic Sea. It is known for its vast subarctic wilderness, ski resorts and natural phenomena including the midnight sun and the Northern Lights.
