Tour overview:
Start your wonderful tour exploring Assisi, a tiny town surrounded by walls, built in the Middle Ages. Next, explore Siena, home of the Palio, the historical horse race around the shell-shaped town square, Piazza del Campo. Later, you will continue to Florence, where you can see the Piazza della Signoria and Basilica of Santa Croce. On the following day, you will be able to explore the many historical monuments and landmarks of Florence. After Florence, you will depart to Bologna, where you will travel from Piazza Malpighi all the way to Sant’Antonio Basilica in Padova, with many other stops along the way. Lastly, you will visit Venice, the city of love.
Day 1 - Rome - Assisi - Siena - Florence
Depart at 7:15 AM by deluxe coach for Assisi, a charming medieval town surrounded by ancient walls. Visit the Basilica of St. Francis, renowned for its beautiful frescoes by Giotto and Cimabue, followed by lunch in Assisi. Continue to Siena, a UNESCO-listed city famous for its shell-shaped Piazza del Campo and the historic Palio horse race. Later, travel through the scenic Tuscan countryside to Florence. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy an overnight stay. (L)
Day 2 - Florence
Explore Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance. Visit the iconic Duomo, Brunelleschi’s Dome, Giotto’s Bell Tower and the Baptistery. Continue to Piazza della Signoria, Palazzo Vecchio and the Basilica of Santa Croce. Enjoy lunch at a traditional Tuscan restaurant. In the afternoon, choose between free time to explore Florence at your own pace or an optional excursion to Pisa, home to the famous Leaning Tower and Piazza dei Miracoli. Dinner is at leisure. Day 3 - Florence - Bologna - Venice
Travel to Bologna, a city renowned for its rich cultural heritage and culinary traditions. Begin with a walk from Piazza Malpighi to Piazza Maggiore, taking in the impressive Basilica of San Petronio and Palazzo del Podestà. Enjoy a light local lunch featuring regional specialties, followed by a stroll through Bologna’s medieval streets, elegant arcades and vibrant markets. In the afternoon, continue your journey to Venice. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and enjoy some time to relax. Overnight stay in Venice. (B, Local Food Experience)
Day 4 - Venice
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before the tour concludes. You may choose to extend your stay in Venice or continue your journey to other destinations, such as Milan, Lake Como, or the scenic Northern Lakes region. (B)
