The Gobi Desert is the world’s sixth largest desert and Asia’s second largest. It is famous for dinosaur species recovery as well as its abundance of natural resources. Rich in copper, gold and coal, it is home to the world’s third largest copper and gold mine.

The site of Mongolia’s erstwhile capital Karakorum, Kharkhorin is a Soviet town built during the Middle Ages. The city is in close vicinity to some great attractions such as the stunning lakes of Naiman Nuur, Orkhon Khürkhree waterfall and the sand dunes known as Mongol Els.
