Fes
Fes is the second largest city in Morocco. It is situated at the crossroad of the important cities of the region. The city has two old medina quarters, Fes el Bali and Fes Jdid and the modern urban area of Ville Nouvelle. The walled medina of Fes has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site and is one of the world’s largest urban pedestrian only zones. The oldest continuously functioning university in the world is found in Fes, the University of Al Karaouine. It also is home to one of the oldest tanneries in the world.
Sahara Desert
The Sahara Desert is the largest Desert in the world. One of the best and easiest ways to visit the Sahara is part of your travels in Morocco. You can travel from Fes or Marrakech. Your desert adventure can include 4wd drive through the desert, a walk on the amazing dunes, a camel ride, marveling at the beautiful sunset and even an overnight adventure in a Bedouin tent.
Rabat
Rabat is the capital of Morocco. Known as one of the country’s four Imperial cities, it is located on the Atlantic coast. It is one of the more peaceful cities, especially if you have just come from Casablanca. The Royal Family lives here in Rabat for most of the year. When in Rabat, visit the Kasbah of Oudayas, Hassan Tower, Mohammed V Mausoleum, the Medina, the Royal Palace, the city gates and more.
Marrakech
Marrakech, known as the “Red City” is one of the four Imperial cities of Morocco. It is the most visited city in the country. Visitors will be enchanted by the palaces, gardens, mosques and souks. The walled medina designated as a World Heritage site in 1985 is fun to explore with its small courtyards and winding alleyways.
