Ljubljana
Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, is a charming old city full of museums, galleries and artists. Predjama Castle
Located just a few kilometers away from the Postonja Cave, lies the impregnable Predjama Castle, perched in the middle of a 123-metre cliff for over 800 years. Behind this cave castle, the largest in the world, there is a network of secret tunnels, from where the knight of Erazem of Predjama would set out on his plundering expeditions. Listed on the Guinness World Records, the cave ranks among the ten most fascinating castles in the world and often chosen by couples as their wedding venue.
Skofja Loka (Bishop’s Meadow)
Located just over 25km from Ljubljana, Skofja Loka is one of the most beautiful and oldest towns in Slovenia. Easily covered on foot, the medieval town is home to artisan stores and book shops. The Old Town of Skofja Loka is protected as a historical monument and is popular among the locals, as one of Slovenia’s most famous books was set in this town.
Postojna
Located about an hour west of Ljubljana, Postojna is most famous for its cave, one of the largest in the world. The cave’s stalagmite and stalactite formations are unlike any other in the world, making it one of Slovenia’s most popular attractions. A massive underground world, a visit to the cave is a truly fascinating experience. The charming town of Postojna adds to the experience and is a delight to visit.
Lake Bled
Slovenia’s iconic image and one of the most scenic locations in the world, Lake Bled is famous for its picturesque setting. Located in the middle of the lake is Bled Castle, which offers incredible views of the lake and surrounding mountains. On a clear day, one can see Slovenia’s highest mountain, Mount Triglav, making for dramatic viewing.
