Sweden’s capital and its largest city, Stockholm is made up of 14 islands, bordered by Lake Malaren in th west and the Baltic Sea in the east. The Stockholm archipelago comprises of 24,000 islands and islets. Proudly called “Beauty on Water” by the locals, Stockholm’s air and water are said to be the freshest among all European capitals and 60% of the city’s area is made up of waterways and green areas. Combining modern art, gorgeous architecture and buildings dating to the 1700s in its Old Town, it is also the cultural and economic capital of the country. Known for its harbourside elegance, the historical city is modern and dynamic at the same time. With plenty of cafes, bars, shopping complexes and restaurants offering delectable Nordic cuisine, Stockholm offers an array of experiences.

Swedish Lapland

Famous for the world’s first and most well-known Icehotel, the Swedish Lapland is nothing short of a fantasy. Take a guided tour of the Icehotel and learn about the history of the impressive ice construction. The hotel is home to Sweden’s most unique private art gallery and the hotel is built up in a new shape every year, carefully designed and handmade by around 70 artists from all over the world. The Jukkasjarvi Church, the oldest wooden church in the region, is the other top attraction. Dating back to 1608 and known for its striking interior, it is the oldest surviving church in Sweden’s Lapland.

Kiruna

Home to the largest underground mine in the world, Kiruna is the gateway to the wilderness and adventures of the Swedish Lapland. Known for its space research, Kiruna is also famous for its long winters, beautiful church and town hall, the Sami culture and the northern lights. One of the few places where you can witness midnight sun, the sun shines 24 hours a day during summer months, while it never rises above Kiruna’s horizon for a month during the winter, making the region fascinatingly unique.
