ITINERARY

Tour Overview:
Hinduism is one of the many religions and beliefs in India. Up in the misty heights of the majestic Garhwal Himalayas, in the magnificent State of Uttrarakhand is a rejuvenating spiritual experience for the devotees. Nestling in the high peaks are the four holy shrines of Hindus – Yamunotri, Gangotri, Keharnath, and Badrinath. These are collectively known as the Chardham.

Day 01: Delhi – Haridwar – Train

This morning you will be picked from your hotel / residence and transferred to New Delhi Railway station for train (DDN Shatabdi Dep. 0645 / Arr. 1136) to Haridwar. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Evening enjoy aarti ceremony at the ghat.


Day 02: Haridwar – Barkot (220kms/6 – 7 hrs.)

Post breakfast drive to Barkot, arrive and check in hotel. Evening is free to relax. Overnight at hotel.


Day 03: Barkot – Yamunotri – Barkot {36kms drive & 6kms Trek (one side)

After breakfast drive to Jankichatti / Phoolchatti, trek start from here to Yamunotri (6kms) trek by walk (Horse Or Doli option available on direct payment bases). Arrive Yamunotri, one can cook rice by packing it in a cloth and dipping it in the hot water of the hot kund. Pilgrims take this cooked rice home as “Prasad”. Here near the temple “Pooja” can be offered to Divya Shila, after taking bath in Jamunabai Kund’s warn water and having “Darshan” of pious “Yamunaji” return to Jankichatti and drive back to Barkot. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Yamunotri Temple: Maharani Gularia of Jaipur built the temple in the 19th Century. It was destroyed twice in the present century and rebuilt again.

Surya Kund: There are number of thermal springs in the vicinity of the temple, which flows into numerous pools. The most important of these is Surya Kund.

Day 04: Barkot – Uttarkashi ( Approximately 5 hrs. drive )

After breakfast drive to Uttarkashi, arrive and check in at the hotel. Rest of the day is free to relax free. Overnight at Hotel.


Day 05: Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Uttarkashi (100kms/ 4 hrs. One Way)

Today, we proceed to Gangotri (3048 mts), en route enjoy picturesque Harsil village, Bhagirathi River and the most magnificent view of the Himalayas. After Gangotri Darshan we return to Uttarkashi for an overnight stay at Uttarkashi.

Gangotri Temple: The temple, constructed by the Gorkha General Amar Singh Thapa in the 18th Century, is situated on the right bank of Bhagirathi.

Submerged Shivling: Submerged in the river, this natural rock Shivling is the place where, according to mythology Lord Shiva sat when he received the Ganga in his matted lock. It is visible in winter months when water level decreases.

Kedar Ganga Sangam: Around 100 Yards from the Ganga Temple flows the river Kedar Ganga. Starting from the Kedar Valle, this river meets the Bhagirathi on its left bank.


Day 06: Uttarkashi – Guptakshi ( Approximately 220 kms)

After Breakfast, start your journey to Rudraprayag, on arrival check in at hotel. Overnight.


Day 07: Guptkashi- Kedarnath- Guptkashi – via helicopter

Mandatory: priority darshan charges to be paid by the guest, approximately INR 1500 (USd 22) per person at Kedarnath
After breakfast drive to Phata from where you will board the helicopter for Kedarnath. Once you have performed pooja then fly back to Phata and later drive back to Guptkashi for an overnight stay.

Kedarnath: The Kedarnath shrine, one of the 12 jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, is a scenic spot situated, against the backdrop of the majestic Kedarnath range. Kedar is another name of Lord Shiva, the protector and the destroyer. According to legend, the Pandavas after having won over the Kaurava in the Kurukshetra war, felt guilty of having killed their own brothers and sought the blessings of Lord Shiva for redemption. He eluded them repeatedly and while fleeing took refuge at Kedarnath in the form of a bull. On being followed he dived into the ground, leaving his hump on the surface. The remaining portions of Lord Shiva appeared at four other places and are worshipped there as his manifestations. The arms appeared at Tungnath, the face at Rudranath, the belly at Madhmaheshwar and his locks (hair) with head at Kalpeshwar. Kedarnath and the four above-mentioned shrines are treated as Panch Kedar.


Day 08: Guptkashi – Badrinath ( 6 – 7 hrs. drive)

After breakfast leave for Badrinath, arrival and check in hotel. Later perform pooja at the Temple. Overnight at hotel.

Badrinath: One of the Chardhams on the confluence of Rishi Ganga & Alaknanda rivers offering a panoramic view of Nilkanth peak. Hot water springs, Mana Village – last civilian village towards the Indo – China border, Vasundhra Falls, bhim Pul.Overnight stay at Badrinath. Perform Pooja and Darshan. Overnight. at Badrinath.

Badrinath, 4th Dham of Uttarakhand’s Chardham & only original Chardham as proposed by Adi Guru Shankaracharya: Arti at Badrinath.

Cradled in the twin Mountain ranges of Nar and Narayan is the holiest of the four main shrines – Badrinath along the left bank of river Alaknanda with the towering Neelkantha Peaks as the splendid backdrop. Once the spot was carpeted with ‘badris’ or wild berries and hence was famous as Badri van. Legend has it, when the Ganga was requested to descend to earth to help suffering humanity; the earth was enable to withstand the force of its decent. Therefore the mighty Ganga was split into 12 holy channels. Alaknanda was one of them that later became the abode of Lord Vishnu or Badrinath.


Day 09: Badrinath – Rudraprayag (5 to 6 hrs. drive)

After breakfast drive to Rudraprayag, en route you may visit Auli (via cable car, cable charges to be paid by guest ), on arrival in Rudrapryag, check in at the hotel.


Day 10: Rudraprayag – Haridwar

After relaxed breakfast drive to Haridwar, en route visit Rishikesh continue on to Haridwar arrive and check in at the hotel. Overnight in Haridwar.


Day 11: Haridwar – Delhi – Train

Early morning you will be transferred to Haridwar railway station for train (JAN Shatabadi Dep. 0630 / Arr. 1105 Only AC CC) to Delhi. Upon 1arrival in Delhi you will be met and transferred to your hotel or IGIA airport for flight to onward destination.
