Tour Overview:

Let SITA take you for an in depth visit to Malaysia. See the wonders of the vibrant capital, Kuala Lumpur on the peninsula. Then travel to Borneo Malaysia for a discovery of the culture, natural beauty, and wildlife unique to this area. Immerse yourself with a homestay visit to an authentic Bidayuh village; watch the ‘Wild Men of Borneo’, the Orangutan with visits to the Semenggok Wildlife Centre and the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Center; and visit the tallest peak in Southeast Asia, Mt Kinabalu.


Day 1 – Arrival Kuala Lumpur and Full Day Kuala Lumpur Tour

Upon arrival, meet with the local driver you will be transferred to the Hotel and check in. (room pre-stay) 12:00hrs – Pick up at the hotel lobby and procced Kuala Lumpur Park Tour. The tour begins with a visit the Perdana Botanical Gardens to see the Orchid Garden here that houses up to 800 species of orchid. The garden comprises a semi-circle pergola for the climbing and epiphytic variety, and a rock garden for the terrestrial variety.

Continue to the Kuala Lumpur Butterfly Park, one of the largest in the world, spanning over 80,000 sq ft of landscaped gardens, with over 5,000 live butterflies, exotic plants, butterfly-host plants and ferns. Other attractions are Japanese koi carp, freshwater turtles, and a museum with a large collection of butterflies and insects from around the world. Finish at the Kuala Lumpur Bird Park, located in the Lake Gardens. Finish at the Kuala Lumpur Bird Park, located in the Lake Gardens. Renowned as the ‘World’s Largest Free-flight Walk-in Aviary”, the park encompasses over 20 acres of aviary, home to more than 3,000 birds of approximately 200 species of native and foreign birds.

Then, proceed transfer to Petronas Twin Towers and visit Skybridge & 86th Floor Observation Deck. This is a guided 45 minutes tour (Petronas visit is closed every Mondays & please note visiting time is subject to change).

Continue your visit to other major historical landmarks – King`s Palace, National Monument, National Mosque and Merdeka (Independence) Square. Much of the history of the city is depicted here as well as the tradition and cultural heritage of the major communities.

Day 2 – Departure Kuala Lumpur – Arrival Kuching

Recommended Flight: MH2520 1055hrs/1240hrs
Breakfast at the hotel and check out for your transfer to Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

Upon arrival to Kuching, meet & greet by our local representative or your guide for your Kuching City Tour – The start of the Borneo Adventure covering the Sarawak Museum (closed on Fridays), Market Place, State Mosque and Historical Chinese Temple. Join a pontoon river cruise for a scenic view of the Astana – Residence of the former White Rajah and the surrounding area. After the tour, transfer to your hotel for check in, and the rest of the day is free at leisure. (B)

Overnight at: Hilton Kuching – Standard Room or Similar.


Day 3 – Kuching – Semenggoh Mongkos

After breakfast, transfer to Semenggok Wildlife Centre to see Orangutans rescued from captivity and trained to survive in the forest. Note: as the Orangutans are semi-wild, sightings cannot be guaranteed.

Following a visit to Serian farmers market continue driving past the Bukar-Sadong hilly areas enjoying scenic views along the way including authentic Bidayuh villages. Upon arrival, have your locally prepared lunch at the homestays cafe. Enjoy and learn about the Bidayuh craftwork and sightseeing in the village. In the evening, dinner at the homestays cafe. Overnight at the village’s homestay. You will stay in basic dormitory style accommodation in a guesthouse, with mosquito netting provided. (B, L & D)

Day 4 – Batang Ai – Kuching

Breakfast at the resort. Enjoy the view of the lake – it is sometimes shrouded in mist which makes it quite breath-taking. Depart for Kuching via the same route. Lunch is served en route. Upon arrival in Kuching, check in and the rest of the day is free at leisure. (B & L)

Day 5 – Kuching – Mulu

Recommended flight: MH2802 KCH/MYY 0650hrs/0755hrs; MYY/MZV MH3630 1030hrs/1100hrs
Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Proceed to the airport for your flight to Mulu. Met upon arrival at Mulu by our representative and transfer to Mulu Mariott Resort. Lunch at the Resort.

1400-1430 Transfer to Park Headquarters for a leisurely 45-minute trek along the elevated plank walk through peat swamps, alluvial flats and limestone outcrops to Lang’s Cave – the largest cave passage in the world – adjoining Deer Cave. Lang’s Cave is the most impressive of the show caves. Proceed to Deer Cave to view “Lincolns’ Profile”. Bat guano, a fertile and pungent powder, covers the entire floor of the cave. At dusk, weather permitting, enjoy the spectacle of tens of thousands of free-tailed bats emerging from the cave in formation, against the changing backdrop of the evening sky, to forage for insects. Overnight At: Mulu Marriott Resort – Deluxe Rainforest


Day 6 – Mulu

Breakfast at the resort. 09:00 Depart by boat up the Melinau River to visit the Penan settlement and continue to Wind Cave and Clearwater Caves. Picnic lunch will be provided at Clearwater rest hut. Enjoy the beautiful environment which surrounds you or take a nice cool dip at the Clearwater pool. Return to resort in the late afternoon. Rest of the day – relax in this unique resort by the pool or indulge yourself in the Spa or Massage treatment (own expenses). Lunch and dinner at the resort. (B, L & D)

Day 7 – Departure Mulu – Arrival Kota Kinabalu

Recommended flight details: MH 3252 1200hrs/1255hrs
Breakfast at the resort. Free at leisure until departure transfer by shuttle transfer provided by resort to Mulu Airport for your onwards flight to Kota Kinabalu. Arrived at Kota Kinabalu Airport, me and greet by the local driver and transfer to your hotel for check-in. Free at leisure for the rest of the day. (B)

Overnight At: Hyatt Regency Hotel – Guestroom City View.


Day 8 – Full Day Kinabalu Park And Poring Hot Spring

Breakfast at the resort.
Proceed to Mount Kinabalu & Poring Hotsprings (Full day tour).
The jagged granite peaks of Mt. Kinabalu (4095m) towers above one of the most biologically diverse areas in the world. Nominated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, Kinabalu Park is a natural wonder that offers day visitors a glimpse into the fascinating and often unique world of flora within the park. The montane oak-chestnut forest at Park headquarters gives way to lowland dipterocarp forest at Poring on the eastern boundary. Trek through the rainforest and witness life in the treetops as you walk along the 100ft high Canopy Walkway (If Canopy walkway is closed, it will be replaced with a visit to the Tropical Garden). Transfer back to hotel after the tour. (B & L)

Day 9 – Departure Kota Kinabalu–Arrival Sandakan – Selingan

Recommended flight details: MH 2042 BKI-SDK 0710hrs/0750hrs
Breakfast at the hotel.
Transfer to Kota Kinabalu Airport for morning flight to Sandakan via MH 2042 (0715/0755). On arrival at Sandakan Airport, meet & transfer to jetty for a 45 minute boat ride by speedboat to Selingan Island. On arrival, register at the Turtle Island Park’s Headquarters and check into the chalets. After lunch at the Cafeteria, you are free at leisure to go swimming or snorkeling. After dinner, wait for the ranger’s call to observe turtles laying their eggs. The eggs will then be transferred to the Hatchery and if there are any young turtle hatchlings, you will have the opportunity to observe the release of the turtles into the sea.
Photography are strictly prohibited between 6.00 pm – 6.00 am. (B, L & D)

Overnight At: Selingan Island Chalet (Basic Twin Sharing)


Day 10 – Selingan – Sandakan – Sukau

Breakfast at the hotel.
06:30-07:00 Depart island for Sandakan and drive for approximately 30 minutes to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Center. Proceed to the free roaming area feeding platform for 10.00 AM feedings of Orang Utans. At this center, observe man’s closest relative “the Orang Utan” being rehabilitated to become wild in their natural habitat and experience a walk in the Tropical Lowland Dipterocarp Forest of Borneo. visit to the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, the centre that managed to improve the living condition of the rescued sun bear and released their natural behaviors in the 2.5ha enclosed forest.

11:15 Depart Sepilok Centre transfer to jetty in Sandakan for schedule boat depart at 12.00 PM to Abai. Take an hour boat cruise up to the Lower Kinabatangan River Sanctuary where you will take your lunch at Abai Jungle Restaurant, This is a wonderful journey of discovery which starts from the waters of Sulu Sea of Sandakan Town through a magnificent scenery of the Mangrove Forest. Cruise up river to Sukau village in search of primates especially the Endemic Proboscis Monkeys, birds and other wildlife. Arrive Sukau and check in to Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge. In the late afternoon, river cruise to Menanggul River, a small tributary of the Kinabatangan. Return lodge for dinner. (B, L & D)

Day 11 – Departure Sandakan – Arrival Kuala Lumpur

After breakfast, return to Sandakan by boat and transfer to the airport for your onward flight to flight to Kuala Lumpur .
Note: Standard check out time is 1200hrs.
16:55 Upon arrival, meet with the local driver you will be transferred to the Hotel. Check in and the rest of the day is free at leisure. (B)

Day 12 – Departure Kuala Lumpur
