10 Days: Paris, Normandy, Caen, Bayeux, Avignon & Nice

Tour Overview – SITA invites you to discover the French art of living. Start in Paris with guided tours to see the beautiful sights and the masterpieces in the Louvre as well as watching a show at the iconic Moulin Rouge. Continue to Normandy to visit the D-Day beaches and the cities of Bayeux and Caen. The adventure continues south to the historic city of Avignon and Nice. Throughout, you will get a taste of France with a foodie tour in Paris, cheese tasting and visits to wine cellars.

Day 1 – Arrival in the City of Lights
Arrival in Paris. Meeting with your English-speaking private driver guide at the airport/train station and transfer to the city center. Check-in at your 4*/ 5* hotel. Then, you will enjoy a panoramic guided tour of the main city’s spots: the Eiffel Tower, the Arch of Triumph, the renowned Champs-Elysees. Then under option, you could enjoy access to a panoramic view from the top floor of the Eiffel Tower. Dinner at leisure. Overnight.

Day 2 – Discovery of the Capital
Breakfast. Accompanied by your English-speaking private guide, the morning will be gourmet. Taste the best of gastronomy’s specialties and delicacies through this tour, from delicatessens to high places of pastry, discover the art and techniques of the French chocolate factories and bakeries. Leisure time to enjoy the many fine and high grocery stores of Paris. Lunch at leisure. This afternoon, embark on a private cruise in the heart of Paris, Share a moment on board a legendary wooden boat, the symbol of luxury and refinement. Day 3 – Exploring Paris
Breakfast. Today, you will enjoy a guided tour of the Louvre Museum. The Louvre is one of the largest palaces in the world and, as a former residence of the kings of France, one of the most illustrious. Your private guide will help you discover this amazing museum, with works like the Venus de Milo, the Coronation of The Emperor Napoléon I, Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa. Lunch at leisure. We could recommend having lunch in one of the most refined Café of Paris, where Victor Hugo and Coco Chanel had their habits… In the afternoon, your discovery continues by visiting at leisure a former royal cellar. Built by the sommelier of King Louis XV, this cellar was once connected to the Louvre through a tunnel. You will appreciate the special atmosphere as well as the tasting of some French Grands Crus. Dinner at leisure. At night, enjoy an incredible show at Le Moulin Rouge ! The theatre lights go down, the curtain is raise and the entire troupe appears on stage! Let’s enter the Secret Garden of the Moulin Rouge to discover the magical atmosphere of the place. Overnight.

Day 4 – Road to Normandy
Breakfast. This morning, departure from Saint-Lazare station in Paris (train tickets included – 1st class seats). Lunch at leisure along the way. Check-in at your 4*/5* hotel. This afternoon you will enjoy a private guided visit in the city of Bayeux, historical city and well-known for its famous tapestry. In option, possibility to visit the cathedral of Guillaume. Dinner at leisure. Overnight.

Day 5 – Your Day in Normandy
Breakfast. Meeting with your English-speaking driver guide and road towards the D-Day landing beaches, you will enjoy incredible landscapes along the coast, from Utah Beach, to the Pointe du Hoc before reaching Omaha Beach. You could even discover the American Cemetery upon request. Your day will continue in Longues-sur-Mer, renowned for the battery that fired during war. The discovery will end in Arromanches, well-known for its artificial harbour during war that supplied the soldiers’ needs. Lunch at leisure during the tour. Under option, we could book a local restaurant, or a traditional lunch of ‘crêpes’. End of your guide’s services in Bayeux. Dinner at leisure Under option, we could recommend great spots to enjoy French specialties. Overnight.

Day 6 – Caen, City of William the Conqueror
Breakfast. Meeting with your English-speaking driver guide and road to Caen. Enjoy a visit of this city: the Saint Pierre Cathedral, discover its steeples, its picturesque little streets and his gastronomy. Under option, visit of the Ducal Castle, built by Guillaume le Conquerant: The Dungeon, the fortress, the ramparts, towers and gate. The morning ends with a tasting session, the opportunity to discover all the secrets of a famous local cheese: the Camembert ! Lunch at leisure. End of your English-speaking guide driver services at the station. Train towards Paris (train tickets included – 1st class seats). Arrival in the capital city in the evening. Check-in at your 4*/5* hotel. For dinner, let yourself carried away on a magical night cruise where you will have the opportunity to savour a gastronomic menu from famous Chef Ducasse while admiring the most beautiful monuments of the capital. Overnight.

Day 7 – On the road to Avignon
Breakfast. Meeting in Paris train station to reach the south of France. You will take your train to Avignon. Arrival in the city and meeting with your local guide for a guided tour of the Palace of the Popes of Avignon, symbol of the influence of the church on the Christian West in the 14th century. Step through the doors of time, a unique and immersive visit. You will also discover the famous Pont d’Avignon, also known as the Pont Saint Benezet. Lunch at leisure in the city centre. The afternoon will be free for personal discovery. This could be an opportunity to visit the Notre Dame des Doms Cathedral or the Calvet Museum which covers fine arts, ethnology and archaeology. At the end of the day, you could take a break at the Jardins des Doms, and admire the plains of the Rhine, all the way to the Mont Ventoux. Check-in in your 4*/5* hotel in Avignon. Dinner at leisure. Overnight.

Day 8 – Discovery of the city
Breakfast. Your morning will be dedicated to discovering the historic centre of Avignon while having a coffee on the terrace, you will discover the historical centre: the Palais du Roure, the Opera Theatre, the rue des Teinturiers with its cobbled streets, and the ramparts of Avignon. Between architecture and pedestrian streets, enjoy the charm of the cities of the region according to your desires! Lunch at leisure. In the early afternoon, meeting with your local driver and take the road to an authentic wine estate in the famous town of Chateauneuf du Pape and enjoy a guided tour. Between discovering the cellar and an introduction to wine tasting, you will discover the famous Provencal wines! You will take the train to Nice. Arrival in Nice. Check-in in your 4*/5* hotel. Dinner at leisure. Overnight.

Day 9 – Visiting Nice
Breakfast. Today, enjoy a free stroll to discover the typical flower market of Nice (except on Mondays). Discovery at leisure of the famous Promenade des Anglais, the palm trees, the alleys of the old town. Lunch at leisure. After your lunch, guided visit of an artisanal confectionery where candies are made with flowers and candied fruits! Return to your hotel. Dinner at leisure. Overnight.

Day 10 – Last discoveries
Breakfast. This morning, meeting with your private driver and transfer to Grasse. Enjoy an unforgettable, fun and captivating sensory experience focused on creating a scent with aromatic, citrus and orange blossom notes. You will leave with your own unique creation of Eau de Cologne. Lunch at leisure. Transfer to the airport. Flight to your country.
