Tour Overview
The best of Tuscany in 7 days. On a guided tour of Florence, discover the wealth of cultural and artistic treasures such as the Piazza della Signoria, the Cathedral with Giotto’s bell tower, the Baptistery, Ponte Vecchio bridge and more. Learn to make Tuscan specialties in your cooking class with a local chef. Stay in Montepulciano, the Renaissance jewel which is home to one of Italy’s most ancient wines, the Vino Nobile.
Day 1: Arrival
Upon arrival in Florence, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free at your leisure. Overnight in Florence.
Day 2: Florence walks with Accademia Gallery (B)
“Join an expert local guide for a fun, informative walk through the city’s past and learn about the rich legacy of the Medici family, who were not only famous bankers but also important patrons of the arts and left the city a wealth of cultural and artistic treasures. The guide will take you to famous spots such as Piazza della Signoria, the Cathedral with Giotto’s bell tower, the Baptistery with Ghiberti’s stunning gold-paneled doorway, and Orsanmichele before crossing the Ponte Vecchio bridge and entering the Oltrarno neighbourhood, an area renowned for its artisanal workshops and quaint atmosphere, making it the perfect place to grab a gelato and relax. During the tour, you’ll also visit the Accademia Gallery, home to one of the most exquisite art collections in town, which includes Michelangelo’s giant statue of David, a symbol of Florence and one of the greatest works of art of all time, along with paintings by major Florentine artists like Giotto, Botticelli, Ghirlandaio, ancient plaster casts, and antique musical instruments. Day 3 – HD Small Group Tour – Siena and San Gimignano with dinner in a winery (BD)
In the afternoon, reach a designated meeting point and enjoy the tour to Siena and San Gimignano. Leaving Florence in the afternoon, enjoy the drive to Siena, the first stop on the tour. Enjoy a guided tour of its UNESCO-listed historic centre, which includes the unique shell-shaped square where the legendary Palio race takes place twice a year. Next, reach San Gimignano, the stunning medieval town with an impressive skyline crowned by 14 towers that have survived through the centuries, earning it the nickname “Medieval Manhattan”. Get some time to explore its atmospheric cobbled lanes, then take the road to the hills of Chianti and admire the beautiful colours of Tuscany at sunset. Dinner will take place at a charming wine estate, where you’ll visit the cellars and dine on traditional Tuscan dishes paired with their fine wines. Overnight in Florence.
Day 4 – Florence cooking class with market visit (BL)
Meet the local chef who’ll guide you in this experience and head to the city’s lively central food market, where you’ll pick the ingredients to prepare your meaL Armed with bags of fresh produce, take a quick stroll to the kitchen facilities in the heart of Florence and sample some local delicacies before you start cooking. Next, put your apron on and learn how to cook bruschetta, homemade pasta with a tasty sauce, and a traditional Tuscan dessert under the watchful eye of the chef, who will share stories TRAVEL about Tuscan food and culture along the way. Then, it’s time to enjoy the fruits of your culinary efforts accompanied by some great Chianti wine. At the end of the experience, you’ll receive a certificate and a recipe booklet to replicate the dishes at home. Overnight in Florence.
Day 5 – From Florence to Montepulciano (BL)
“After picking you up from your hotel, the driver will take you on a scenic drive through the heart of Tuscany to visit beautiful villages where history, art, and a great wine tradition. The itinerary includes stops at Montalcino, a walled medieval town famous for the production of the renowned Brunello, and Montepulciano, the Renaissance jewel home to one of Italy’s most ancient wines, the Vino Nobile, and Pienza, a lovely town in the heart of Val d’Orcia known as the “”Ideal City”” because it is one of the first examples of humanistic ideal urban planning. Included in the tour is a visit to a local winery to
sample some of the region’s best wines and a delicious lunch to taste Tuscan specialties. Overnight in Montepulciano.”
Day 6 – Montepulciano (B)
After a long week in Tuscany, your Estate is the perfect spot to relax and recover energy. You can read your favourite book in the gorgeous garden, walk along the shady roads around your villa, enjoy horse riding or visit the town of Cortona, just 10 min away. Among the many activities available, we suggest having a cooking class with the resident chef. The cuisine of Tuscany stands out for its simplicity and sobriety which combines well with the refinement and attention for high-quality local products. You can enjoy a class in a beautiful kitchen located in an evocative setting, where thanks to an experienced chef you will learn all the secrets of the traditional recipes. Overnight in Montepulciano.
Day 7 – Departure (B)
After breakfast you will be met and transferred to the airport.
