7 Days / 6 Nights : Lucerne – Interlaken – Zermatt – St. Moritz

Overview:

This route leads you through 1600 kilometres of the country’s most beautiful regions. You will travel through four linguistic regions, over ive Alpine passes, to eleven UNESCO World Heritage Sites and two biosphere reserves and along 22 lakes.


Day 1 & 2 – Arrival In Switzerland – Interlaken

Individual travel to Interlaken via Lucerne. Interlaken sits in the heart of the Bernese Oberland and the Swiss Alps. It is the gateway to the Jungfrau region with the famous peaks Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. Interlaken nestles between the two beautiful lakes of Thun and Brienz at the foot of the Jungfrau massif. There is so much to do in Interlaken and the surrounding area is a holiday region like no other; consider a mountain excursion to the Jungfraujoch or Schilthorn. Overnight stays in Interlaken.

Option to start the tour with additional nights in Lucerne and continue onwards to Interlaken. Use addditional nights PDF for price extra overnight price.


Day 3 & 4 – Zermatt

Breakfast at the hotel. Zermatt lies at the foot of the Matterhorn and this snow assured resort offers lots of original character and unlimited possibilities. Overnight stays in Zermatt.


Day 5 – Glacier Express – Zermatt To St. Moritz

Breakfast at the hotel. Today discover the many highlights along the Glacier Express route. The trip between Zermatt and St. Moritz is unforgettable. Surrounded by a fantastic mountain panorama, the journey leads eastwards into the Upper Rhone valley which reaches 1366m at Oberwald, passing Andermatt onwards to the Oberlap Pass before winding its way upwards to 2034m (the highest point of the journey). The journey contunies on a decent along the Rhine valley to Chur at 595m (the lowest point of the route). The landscape looks very dramatic in the Rhine gorge between IIanz and Reichenau. The journey ends in St. Mortiz, the world renowed winter sport resort in the snowy Engadine. Overnight stay in St. Moritz.


Day 06 – Bernina Panorama Winter – St.moritz To Poschiavo

Breakfast at the hotel. Board the Bernina Panorama Winter from St. Mortiz to Poschiavo. This regional service with panoramic carriages follows the same route as the Bernina Express with great views along the way through the Upper Engadine Valley before continuing to the highest peaks of the Canton of Graubunden and the Morteratsch Glacier, where the ascent up the Bernina Pass begins. Lago Bianco will come into sight and at this time of year covered in snow. Soon after reach the highest point of 2253m at Ospizio Bernina before the dramatic decent down via Alp Grum which offers magnificent views of the Palu Glacier. Arrive in the Italian speaking Swiss town of Poschiavo. Return to St. Mortiz by the Bernina Panorama Winter service. Overnight stay in St. Moritz.


Day 07 – Departure From Switzerland

Individual return journey to your ending point in Switzerland.
