ITINERARY

4 Days / 3 Nights: Puerto Natales – Torres del Paine

Overview:
Breathtaking fjords and dazzling Andean peaks define one of Chile’s best-known regions…a playground for skiing, whitewater rafting and trekking. The city of Punta Arenas is the gateway to Torres del Paine National Park with its granite peaks, glaciers and waterfalls.

Day 1 – Punta Arenas-Puerto Natales
Transfer from Airport to the Bus stations, public bus from Punta Arenas to Puerto Natales, ticket included, once in Natales, private transfer to the selected Hotel.

Day 2 – Balmaceda& Serrano Navigation
Depart from the hotel in Puerto Natales towards the pier around 08:00 am. Once all passengers are on-board, set sail through Puerto Bories and the Last Hope Fjord (Fiordo de Última Esperanza) in order to appreciate the beautiful mountains, falls, farms (estancias) and Patagonian birdlife. The trip continues along the Balmaceda Glacier, where passengers disembark in Puerto Toro to begin a one hour trekking by the lake border through a forest of native coihue trees, in the direction of the Serrano Glacier. Enjoy the impressive vegetation and the contrast between clean skies and floating icebergs. Finally, set sail from Puerto Toro, to Eberhard Fjord, and a trek to Estancia Puerto Consuelo for a delicious “Asado al Palo” (typical Magellan barbecue) lunch in Estancia Eberhard. Sail back to Puerto Natales and disembark around 17:00 hrs and transfer to selected hotel in Puerto Natales.(B)

Day 3 – Excursion Full Day Torres del Paine National Park
Embark on a tour of the Torres del Paine National Park, bordering the Sienna of Ultima Esperanza and later crossing extensive pampas of Magellanic steppe, reaching the town of Cerro Castillo, with the typical handicrafts of the region. Then from Mirador Lago Sarmiento we will have a beautiful picture postcard view of the Paine Massif, adorned by the presence of guanaco ñandĂşes and condors that inhabit the sector. Another interesting point is the Laguna Amarga sector, offering one of the best views of the imposing granite waters “Las Torres del Paine”, which on clear days reflects the spectacular landscape. Enter Torres del Paine National Park, the World Biosphere Reserve, to enjoy one of the most attractive places on the planet. Stop at the Nordenskjold Lake Viewpoint, for a beautiful view of the different peaks of the Cordillera Paine, highlighting the famous “Cuernos del Paine” and the highest mountain in the Park, The “Paine Grande” which is 3,050 tall. Move on to the sector of Salto Grande, for a short hike to reach this great waterfall that empties into Lake PehoĂ©. Lunch is inside the park. Later visit the Gray Lake sector, crossing the hanging bridge over the “Pingo River”, and a Forest of Lengas to the beach, with a spectacular view of the floes of Glacier Gray. On the way back stop at the MilodĂłn Cave Natural Monument, a set of caves where the remains of an herbivorous mammal of great dimensions that was extinguished at the end of the Pleistocene era, were found. Explore the main cave, which is about 200 meters deep, 80 meters wide and 30 meters high, and pose for a picture next to the exact replica of this extinct animal “El MilodĂłn”. Return to the hotel.
